For many, remote access is not possible except in some cases to
email. In this case, the only option available is to take a laptop
wherever you travel or to work from an Internet café and ask someone to
email the information you need to your webmail account. Overall, most
would say this is a workaround, but by no means ideal particularly with working
from home and broadband technology becoming increasingly prolific, direct
access to the business is more desirable.
Individuals who travel with their laptops because they have no
other means of working remotely, are likely to have the majority of their
business residing on this computer. Not only is it heavy and cumbersome
to carry around, but what happens when it is lost or stolen?
